tl;dr please contact all the previous students if you're considering working in this lab, you deserve to have the foreknowledge of what you're in for. I won't post details online for obvious reasons but please no matter what lab you want to work in, email the students who are already gone and have nothing to lose by telling you the truth.
## Advisor Style & Mentorship
disastrous. Extremely slow to edit papers. Also worth noting, out of 9 male and 7 female students in the first 8 years of his lab, no female has been first author on any of the labs 12 papers. You might think that the females were just lower quality students but it appears they won scholarships at the same rate as the males - one was even a Vanier. So the females' prior track records would suggest comparable research potential to the males and for those who continued in science after working with Professor Wilson, we don't see a dearth of papers later.
